Local Dublin Attractions, within walking distance of Wigan House

We have lived in the area for 20 years and love it because while it is close to the city centre, it has a leafy residential feel, good public transport links and loads of amenities on the doorstep. We will meet guests on arrival and show you around. We are happy to recommend restaurants and pubs and help you with any other queries you may have during your stay.

Drumcondra is a residential area within easy walking distance of Dublin City Centre. It has plenty of green spaces nearby including Griffith Park (beside our house), a wonderful park along the Tolka River which has a well-maintained playground, exercise equipment and plenty of space to picnic and go for walks.

Public transport is excellent with several bus routes serving the City Centre, Dublin's South Side and beyond, run at either end of our road (the nearest bus stop is 2 minutes away). A taxi ride into the City Centre will take 10 minutes and will cost about 10 euro.

The National Botanic Gardens and Glasnevin Cemetery are within 5 minutes walk while Croke Park is also nearby. Fagan's, a famous Victorian pub, is at the end of our road, while Kavanaghs ('the Gravediggers') pub, which features in Lonely Planet's 'Secret Europe, 50 Truly Unforgettable Experiences to Inspire Your Next Trip', is within a 5 minute walk.

Great restaurants like The Washerwoman and Fennel and cafés like the Lovely Food Company, Andersons and McMahons are all within a few minutes walk. Start the day with coffee and croissants from Bread & Butter Café, where you can sit outside on a tree-lined street and watch the world go by!
